Customer Rating:Summary: From Analog to Digital Audio the Difference is Priceless
Comment: I previously had my computer connected to my home theater via a RCA to 3.5mm cable. Through that connection I heard a lot of static and buzzing, which is the reason I was looking to switch to a digital connection. So i needed an optical connection on my sound card which I didn't have, until I found this. I connected it to a pci slot and had it running in literally 2 minutes after installing the drivers. I'm not lying when I say that I went through about half of my music library just to enjoy the sound. It's amazing (via the optical connection at least, i haven't tested the other connections).

Comment: I was looking for a basic card that works under Linux and has better audio quality than my lousy on-board sound. This one fit the bill perfectly.

Summary: Turtle Beach Audio Card
Comment: Received this as an open box item, without documentation or installation CD. Windows XP installed as a Plug & Play item without a problem however as I had installed it in a SHARED PCI slot it had a resource conflict. When I relocated it to a non-shared slot it worked fine. By visiting the Turtle Beach website, I managed to download current audio utilities.

Summary: Big Sound for a Small Price
Comment: I've used Turtle Beach sound cards for quite some time. Their quality is superb; preferable over comparible Sound Blaster cards. Riviera provides all of the features I'm looking for in Digital Input/Output, as well as superb Legacy support (for older computer applications and games designed for DOS.) Turtle Beach online support has always been very good, as well.

Summary: Adequate performance, dishonest marketing
Comment: The card was easy to install and so far seems to work with all applications tested. However, several software titles that are clearly promised on the outside of the box, including "Record Producer LE, Music Write LE, and SoundCheck" are not on the installation disc. This is simply not honest. In the future I'll prefer to do business with a company that delivers what they promise.
